The Botkins Board of Education met in regular session on May 9, 2016. The Board took the following actions:

The elementary staff consisting of Mrs. Rogers, Mrs. Meyer, Mrs. Steinke, Mr. Christman, Mrs. Brown, and Mrs. Koeing presented information on the Balanced Literacy program and its impact on the elementary ELA.

Mr. Berryman and the Robotkins team did a presentation on the gifted Robotkins Program.

Approved the minutes of the April 13, 2016 Board of Education regular meeting.

Approved the Treasurer’s report by fund, the Investment report, and cash balance report as presented.

Approved to amend the Certificate of Estimated Resources, make supplemental Appropriations as presented.

Approved the amended 5-year forecast as presented by the Treasurer.

Approved a $10,000 transfer from the General Fund to the Severance fund.

Approved a $72,000 transfer from the General Fund to the Textbook set-aside fund.

Approved a $324,352 transfer from the Debt Service fund (fund 002-0000) to the LFI fund (fund 004-999A) and a $25,390 advance from the General Fund to the LFI (fund 004-999A).

Approved a $10,000 transfer from the General Fund to the Permanent Improvement fund.

Approved a $100,000 transfer from the General Fund to the Permanent Improvement fund.

Approved a $75,415 transfer from the General Fund to the new Classroom maintenance fund (fund 034-9012).

o Christina Paul as an Intervention Specialist on a 1 year limited contract for the 2016-17 school year.

Approved from the class of 2018 a donation of $1,026.00 in memory of Carolina Meyer for the BEES.

Updates:

Graduation is Sunday, May 29, at 2:00 PM. Please plan to be here at 1:30.

Lights have been installed at the athletic complex. We have them set to work off of a

Timer.

Cameras have been installed at the athletic complex.

All landscaping work continues to be worked on.

New 30-passenger bus is in and has been used. Drivers all like the bus.

Parking lot has been restriped last weekend.
