The Botkins Board of Education met in regular session on November 13, 2013. The Board took the following actions:


¨      Presented by 8th graders Jenna Free, Hannah Bailey and Paige Lane, the Washington D.C. trip was discussed.

¨      Lucas Buehler and Michaela Kramer discussed their trip to the National Convention and Livestock Judging Competition.

¨      Approved the minutes from the October 9th,2013 regular Board meeting and the Special Board meeting held on October 30, 2013.

¨      Approved the Treasurer’s report by fund, the Investment report and cash balance report as presented.

¨      Adopted resolutions of commendations for:

o   Cross Country- Regional Qualifiers (both girls’ and boys’ team)

o   Cross Country-State Qualifiers, Chloe and Cameron Flora

   Academic All-Ohio, Cameron Flora

o   The FFA Livestock Judging Team placed 13th in the Nation out of 46 teams.

o   Michaela Kramer placed 19th as an individual out of 184 individuals, Logan Russell was 43rd, Lucas Buehler 59th and Kyle Moellenkamp placed 91st.

¨      Moved to update board policies as presented.

¨      Moved to hire the following personnel:

¨      Joined the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce for the 2014 year at a cost of $104.50

¨      Accepted the resignation of Doug McGowan due to retirement effective December 31, 2013.

¨      Adopted the resolution to stop collecting the ½ mill classroom facilities maintenance levy through 2016.

¨      Entered Executive Session to review hiring of personnel.
