The Botkins Board of Education met on August 9th for the regular board meeting and took the following actions:

• Approved the minutes of the July 12, 2023 regular board meeting

• Approved the Treasurer’s report by fund, general fund activity, the Investment Report, and the 5-year review of General Fund Activity as presented

• Approved the Then and Now purchase order as presented

• Approved to hire the following personnel for the 2023-24 school year as presented:

  • Kaleb Hanby - Assistant High School Boys Soccer Coach

  • Jerry Lenhart - Driver's Education

  • Tod Johnson - Varsity Baseball Coach

• Approved the bus routes for the 2023-24 school year as presented

• Approved to set the 2023-24 tuition rate at the amount determined by ODE 

• Approved to authorize the athletic trainer, after consulting with MD, to grant clearance to athletes to return to participation following a concussion 

• Approved to enter into an agreement with the Shelby County Sheriff's Office for School Resource Officer services for the 2023-24 school year at a cost to be determined

• Approved the Midwest Regional ESC Service Agreement for Aleshya Hutchinson as an Instructional Aide

• Approved to hire the following substitute teachers for the 2023-24 school year at a rate of $100 per day:

• Approved to enter the program services agreement for Hearing/Audiology Services with the Montgomery County ESC for Fiscal Year 2024 as presented

• Approved $1.00 per hour raise for the following personnel: Secretary, Cafeteria, Custodial, Susan Leugers, Dennis McPheron, Brenda Tennant, and Evan Poeppelman

• Approved to accept the following donations as presented:

  • $400 from Meyer's Tavern to be used for the Boys Baseball fund

  • $2130 from Barb Roberts to be used for the Jeff Roberts Memorial Scholarship fund

• Approved to set a special meeting on August 23, 2023 at 7PM to accept bids for the Land Lab Project

• Accepted the resignation of Cindy Cox as Cafeteria Worker as of 8/3/2023

• Approved to hire Cindy Cox as Substitute Cafeteria Worker for the 2023-24 school year as presented
