The Botkins Board of Education met in regular session on March 12th , 2014. The Board took the following actions:

v Approved the minutes of the February 12, 2014, Board of Education regular meeting and March 1, 2014 special board meeting.

v Approved the Treasurer’s report by fund, the Investment report, and cash balance report as presented.

v Approved the following Then and Now purchase order for Good Clean Fundraising for the laundry detergent fundraiser for the NHS and Student Council.

v Non-renewed all supplemental contracts effective at the end of the 2013-14 school year.

v Adopted a resolution of commendation for the following Junior High Power of the Pen members who qualified for Regional Tournament: 8th graders Olivia Ewry, Jamie Carducci and Lillian Koenig and 7th graders Michelle Altstaetter, Lindsey Okuley, Sarah Klaus and Grace McCafferty.

v Approved a resolution accepting the amounts and rates as determined by the budget commission and authorizing the necessary tax levies and certifying to the county auditor.

v Approved a contract with Carol Riggle, 014 GAAP Accounting and assistance and for the FY 2014 Modified Cash Basis/OCBOA Reports. Cost would be $4,730 for GAAP and $1,375 for Modified Cash Basis/OCBOA.

v Hired Kathy Roggenkamp as intervention specialist as needed per salary contract.

v Accepted the $100,000 donation from the Athletic Boosters to be used for the Botkins Track and Soccer Complex.

v Entered executive session to discuss contract status/evaluations of employees.

v An evening of entertainment by the Something Creative Group will be held Friday, April 4th. A spaghetti meal will be provided by the FCCLA and the music and art students will be performing.

v Artist James Toogood will be doing a workshop March 31st through April 4th from 4:30-9:00 PM.

v Update on the track – The track is scheduled to be completed by mid-May.

v Upcoming PI renewal – A meeting will be held on April 9th at 7:00 PM in the Media Center.

v The Shelby County ESC has merged with Logan and Hardin counties. Effective July 1st, we will be now part of the Midwest Educational Service Center.
