The Botkins Board of Education met in regular session on November 9, 2016. The Board took the following actions:

Spencer Heuker spoke about his Eagle Scout Presentation.

Josh Meyer spoke about a batting cage at the park.

Tyler Schmerge spoke on behalf of the Athletic Boosters regarding the storage building.

Approved the minutes of October 12, 2016 Board of Education regular meeting.

Approved the Treasurer’s report by fund, the Investment report and cash balance report as presented.

Adopted the following resolutions of commendation:

o Livestock Judging Team – 7th Place at Keystone International Livestock Judging Contest

o Austin Fullenkamp – Regional Cross Country Qualifier

o Kaleb Hanby – Two time WOSL Player of the Year, Tied Most Career Goals (59), set new school records in Most Career Assists (34), Total Points in a Career (152) and Most Assists in a Season (15).

o Grace Homan – Set a new school record in Most Saves in a Game (31) and Most Saves in a Season (200).

o Paige Lane – Set a new school record in Most Steals in a Game (23).

Approved the following volunteers as listed:

o Cindy Cox Kindergarten

o Seth Hoying JH Boys Basketball

o Gabe Lawrence JH Boys Basketball

o Josh Schwartz JH Boys Basketball

Moved to hire the above extracurricular positions for the 2016-17 school year:

o Dennis martin Varsity Baseball Coach

o Jason Jones Varsity Baseball Assistant Coach

Moved to join the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce for the 2017 year at a cost of $95.00.

Approved to purchase a single person scissor lift from Equipment Depot per their quote.

Approved to disburse $195 (or any amount up to $250) from the Botkins Local School Foundation account held by the Community Foundation to be used to sponsor the chosen student to attend the HOBY (Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership) Conference.

Approved the purchase of the old school bell from Steve Heuker.

Moved to adjourn the meeting.
