The Botkins Board of Education met on April 10th for the regular board meeting and took the following actions:

• Approved the minutes of the March 13, 2024 regular board meeting

• Approved the Treasurer’s report by fund, general fund activity, the Investment Report, and the 5-year review of General Fund Activity as presented

• Amended the Certificate and Appropriations as presented

• Approved Modified Cash Basis as presented

• Approved the list of graduates of the Class of 2024 as presented

• Approved changes to the 7-12 grade handbook as presented

• Approved changes to the K-6 grade handbook as presented

• Adopted the Volunteer handbook with no changes as presented

• Approved to participate in Ohio SchoolComp for 2024 Workers' Compensation Group Rating Program as presented

• Accepted the following donations as presented:

  • $300 from an anonymous donor to be used for the Cole Field fund

  • $293 from Meyer's Tavern to be used for the Track fund

  • $1000 from Greve Farms LTD to be used for the Julius & Dorothy Greve Scholarship fund

  • $2000 from Josh Meyer to be used for the Cara Meyer Scholarship fund

• Approved to hire the following summer help as presented for the 2024-25 school year:

  • Custodial - Brynnan Paul, Lauren Gerstner, Lilly Bayless, Camryn McPheron, Chaise Rigney, Evan Grieves

  • Tech - Gabby Puschel, Maguire Maurer

• Approved the following overnight trips as presented:

  • Ohio FFA Camp in Muskingum (dates TBD)

  • High School Boys Basketball Camp - Findlay June 27-28

  • High School Varsity Volleyball Camp - Cedar Point July 15-17

  • High School Boys Soccer Camp - Ohio Dominion University July 17-19

  • Destination Imagination Nationals - Kansas City, Missouri May 22-25

• Approved to hire certified staff members as presented

• Approved to hire Brad Bergman as the 2023-24 Youth League Basketball Coordinator as presented

• Approved to accept the resignation of Nancy Brown as an aide due to retirement, effective May 31, 2024.
