The Botkins BOE met on Aug 8, 2012 and took the following actions...

Approved the minutes from July 11, 2012

Approved the financial report by fund, monthly general fund activity

report, investment report, and 5 year review of general fund activity

Approved the Kindergarten routes

Approved resolution of commendation to the FCCLA Chapter Showcase Manual

Jr for earning a gold rating at National Convention

Hired the following:

Subs: Carly Stiger, Chelsea Rogers

Coaches: Kristin Ruppert as Asst Varsity Volleyball Coach and Audrey

Gutman as HS cheerleading advisor

Modification to supplemental already approved:

Jason Liette to replace Andy Rammel as half of the NHS advisor

Bryan Trego will peform the entire summer volleyball position

Chad Berning - 5th quarter grant supplemental

Hired Kristin Ruppert as Special Ed Needs Aide and a Special Ed Tutor as


Hired the following Sub Bus Drivers:

Chad Berning, Tom Emerson, Don Mack, Gerald Lenhart, David Uetrecht, Dan

Knoop, Ken Lemmon, Chad Steinke, Scott Nanik and Curtis Bailey

Hired Sub Cafeteria Workers:

Jody Marx, Jeanie Bergman and Holly Russell

Hired Lavelle Smith as the Drivers' Training Manager/Drivers' Ed Instructor

Establised a tuiton rate for the 2012-13 school year

Approved a la carte prices for teh 2012-13 school year

Approved the cross country overnight trip to Eaton on Sept 14 & 15

Approved rental agreement w/ the Shelby County ESC for the handicap unit

for the 2012-13 school year

Accepted donations of $185 in the memory of Marie Behr and $150 for the

Roggenkamp Scholarship

Approved to set season pass rates at $70 for adults and $35 for students

Held executive session to discuss hiring of personnel

Approved to hire Jan Jones as gifted intervention specialist thru a

contract/agreement w/ the Shelby County ESC. Cost of this contracted

service shall not exceed $20,000.

Hired Declan Flannigan as assist varsity boys soccer coach

Approved to participate in the 2013 workers compenation group rating

program with Ohio SchoolComp

Approved resolution for employer pickup of employee contribution for the

Elem Principal/Intervention Coordinator Position

Authorized the Superintendent and Treasurer to exercise and to sign

necessary documents regarding the Board of Educations's land purchase

option for the Mary C. Hageman Trust approved November 1, 2011

Authorized the Superintendent and Treasurer to exercise and to sign

necessary documents regarding the Board of Educations's land purchase

option for the Richard Stienke approved October 31, 2011

Approved demolition of the house purchased at the Sheriff's Auction on

July 18, 2012

Heard the following updates:

Discussed the purchase of property on State Street for $40,500 at the

Sheriff's auction. Should have the deed for this property in 6-8 weeks.

Also, received quote on the demolition of said house on property for $7500.

Reviewed letter from Subashi/Wildermuth for accident claim.

Reviewed and discussed meeting that the Treasurer and Superintendent had

w/ Shelby Co ESC to discuss the status of the ESC financial situation.

The ESC requested an e-mail of support from Botkins for addtional funding

to the ESC for the next school year. The Board stated that they did not

support this request, but stated that they would consider the ESC's

request next school year.

Discussed the RTTT updates and status
