The Botkins Board of Education met on August 12th for the regular board meeting and took the following actions:

  • Approved the minutes of the July 8th, 2020 Board of Education regular meeting.

  • Approved the Treasurer's report by the fund, general fund activity, the Investment report, and cash balance report as presented.

  • Entered executive session at 7:25 PM to consider the appointment, employment, dismissal, discipline, promotion, demotion, or compensation of a public employee or official.

  • Left executive session at 8:16 PM.

  • Moved to approve a 5-year administrative contract for Jeff McPheron-Superintendent and a 5-year administrative contract for Jody Jones-Treasurer.

  • Hired the following personnel as presented for the 2020-21 school year:

  • Approved the Memorandum of Understanding with the BFT for Girls Golf.

  • Hired Travis Diets-Varsity Girls Golf Coach for the 2020-21 school year as presented.

  • Approved the bus routes and authorized the Superintendent to make changes as deemed necessary.

  • Set the 2020-21 tuition rate at $5,701.61 for Botkins Local School as determined by ODE.

  • Authorized the athletic trainer, after consulting with MD, to grant clearance to athletes to return to participation following a concussion.

  • Entered into an agreement with the Shelby County Sheriff's for School Resource Officer services for the 2020-21 school year at a cost $52,277.76.

  • Approved the changes to the Board Policy #2266 as presented.

  • Approved the use of the Classroom Facility Maintenance Fund to pay for the replacement of the mixing valve for the K-12 building.
