The Botkins Board of Education met on August 11th for the regular board meeting and took the following actions:

• Approved the minutes of the July 14, 2021 regular board meeting

• Approved the Treasurer’s report by fund, general fund activity, the Investment Report, and the 5-year review of General Fund Activity as presented.

• Approved to move a $30,000 transfer from the General Fund to the Athletic Fund

• Hired the following personnel as presented:

  • Chad Berning - 5th Quarter Grant

  • Jordan Paul - 7th Grade Boys Basketball Coach

• Approved athletic prices for the 2021-22 school year: $95 per adult pass and $55 for student pass. Individual fees: High School Games are $7 per adult and $5 per student; Junior High games are $4 per adult/student.

• Hired the following substitute teachers for the 2021-22 school year:

  • Alexandra Fisher - Teacher

  • Jennifer Van Skyock - Teacher

  • Beth Harp - Teacher

  • Alyshia Hensley - Teacher

• Approved the following volunteers for the 2021-22 school year:

  • Judy Thaman - Classroom Aide Volunteer

  • Haley Balzek - JH Volleyball Volunteer

• Approved the bus routes for 2021-22 school year.

• Approved the annual tuition rate of $5,712.62.

• Approved authorization of the athletic trainer to clear students after a concussion.

• Approved to enter into an agreement with the Shelby County Sheriff's Office for School Resource Officer for the 2021-22 school year at $49,688.73.

• Approved for Chad Berning to fly and to attend the National Western in Denver, Colorado to compete at the National Western FFA Livestock Judging Contest.

• Approved for Chad Berning and students to attend the FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana for leadership sessions, tours, and degree ceremony.

• Approved to appoint Treasurer to be the Public Records Custodian.
