The Botkins Board of Education met on August 10th for the regular board meeting and took the following actions:

• Approved the minutes of the July 10, 2024 regular board meeting

• Approved the Treasurer’s report by fund, general fund activity, the Investment Report, and the 5-year review of General Fund Activity as presented

• Approved the Then and Now Purchase Orders as presented

• Approved to hire the following personnel for the 2024-25 school year as presented:

                           Jerry Lenhart - Driver's Education

Sybil Koenig and Heather Wing – After school tutoring (test prep)

Ashlee Zimpfer,  Becky Walters, Cal Miller, Tina Paul, Jennifer Holtzapple, and Michele Meyer - Saturday School Supervisor & After School Tutor

                                 Gavrielle Mann – Saturday School Supervisor

                                 Raquel Brown and Heather Buehler (thru the ESC) – After School Tutor

                                 Julie Meyer – High School Basketball Concession Stand Coordinator (originally hired Susan Covelli who has since resigned)

                                 Susan Covelli – High School Soccer Concession Stand Coordinator and Junior High Basketball Concession Stand Coordinator

                                 Taylor Cotrell – Tutor

                                 Cindy Cox-4 hr. Cafeteria Worker

Joe Shuga - Bus Driver

Evan Poeppelman - Student Intern Custodian

Becky Walters - In-School Tutor

• Approved the bus routes and authorized the Superintendent to make changes as deemed necessary as presented

• Approved to set the 2024-25 tuition rate for the Botkins Local School at the amount determined by ODE as presented

• Approved to authorize the athletic trainer, after consulting with MD, to grant clearance to athletes to return to participation following a concussion as presented

• Approved to enter into an agreement with the Shelby County Sheriff's Office for School Resource Officer services for the 2024-25 school year at a cost to be determined

• Approved to hire the following substitute teachers for the 2024-25 school year as presented:

  • Taylor Cotrell

  • Tricia Dietz

  • Jane Greve

  • Rick Russell

  • Becky Walters

  • Thomas Wyan

• Approved to enter the program services agreement for Hearing/Audiology Services with the Montgomery County Educational Service Center for Fiscal Year 2025

• Accepted the following donations as presented:

  • $400 was received from Jayden Priddy-Powell to be used for the Boys/Girls Basketball Fund

  • $1000 was received from Barb Roberts to be used for the Jeff Roberts Memorial Scholarship Fund

• Approved to hire the following substitutes for the 2024-25 school year as presented:

  • Susan Leugers - Substitute Cafeteria Worker

  • Evan Poeppelman - Custodial

  • Ryan Gutman, Jeff McPheron, Dan Knoop, Chad Berning - Bus Driver

  • Brenda Tennant - Secretary

• Approved to hire Brian Clay as Custodial and Bus Driver for the 2024-25 school year as presented

• Approved to pay families in lieu of Private School Transportation as presented

• Approved the sale of Cole Field to the Village of Botkins as presented

• Approved to hire Sophie Braun, Colton Pleiman, and Gage Felts as Student Athletic Workers at minimum wage as presented

• Approved the overnight trip for FFA to attend the National Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana on October 23-26 as presented
