The Botkins Board of Education met on November 13th for the regular board meeting and took the following actions:
Approved the minutes of the November 13, 2024 regular board meeting
Approved the Treasurer’s report by fund, general fund activity, the Investment Report, and the 5-year review of General Fund Activity as presented
Approved setting the January reorganizational meeting and the regular board meeting for January 8, 2025 at 6:45 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. respectively as presented
Accepted the following donations as presented:
$123.50 was received from the ABC’s to be used for Battle of the Books,
$434 was received from Meyer’s Tavern to be used for the Baseball team,
$322 was received from Meyer’s Tavern to be used for the Golf team,
$1100 was received from an anonymous donor to be used for the Dave Huelskamp memorial table,
$6315 was received from The Botkins Education Foundation to be used for the Dave Huelskamp Scholarship fund
Approved the following Resolution of Commendations as presented:
Ross Dietz –set a new school record for 18 holes with a 64, set a new school record for 9 holes with a 31, Academic All-Ohio, awarded 2024 Lima Junior Golf Player of the Year Honor, awarded SCAL Player of the Year and SCAL 1st Team, Nate Niekamp Invitational Champion (-1) and Senior Scholarship Winner, Sectional Champion (-64), qualified for State for the 3rd time, finished Runner-up at State which is the highest place finished in Botkins School History 74-71=145.
Treg Meyer –set a new school record for the best 9-hole (33) for a freshman, awarded 2nd Team SCAL All-League Honors.
Golf Team – Team members consisting of Ross Dietz, Carson Heuker, Quinn Koenig, Treg Meyer, Will Dietz, and Will Monnin, placed 2nd in SCAL, placed Runner-Up at the Tiger Invitational with a score of 316, set a new 9-hole school record (150).
Golf Team – Team members consisting of Ross Dietz, Carson Heuker, Treg Meyer, Will Dietz, and Will Monnin qualified for Sectionals where they placed 1st as Champions with a 310, qualified for Districts where they placed 4th with a 337.
Rory Mack– placed 1st overall Division 2 at District Job Interview Contest, qualified for State, placed 3rd in the Creed Speaking Contest at the Big “E”.
Carson Brown – set a new school record with a time of 15:58, awarded All-Ohio Honor, All-County Runner of the Year, 1st Team All-District, Academic All-Ohio
Brylie Greve – ran a 20:11, 12th all-time and 5th fastest freshman in school history, 1st Team All-County Honor, 2nd Team All-District Honor
Grace Gutman – ran a 20:29, 15th all-time and 10th fastest senior in school history, SCAL 2nd Team Honor,
Lucas Arnold – ran a 16:55, 8th fastest sophomore in school history, SCAL 1st Team Honor, 1st Team All-District Honor, Academic All-Ohio
Collin Doseck – ran a 16:19, 5th all-time and 4th fastest senior in school history, SCAL 1st Team Honor, 2nd Team All-District Honor, Academic All-Ohio
Wesley Gutman – ran a 17:21, 4th fastest freshman in school history, SCAL 2nd Team Honor
High School Boys Cross Country – SCAL Champions 3X, District Champions, Regional Champions, placed 4th at State which ties the highest ever finish in school history, finished in the top 10 for the 5th time in 6 years.
Junior High School Boys Cross Country – Champions at Columbus Grove Meet, Champions at Anna Meet, SCAL Champions
High School Girls Soccer Team – WOSL Co-Champions for the 1st time in school history
Delana Pitts – WOSL Offensive Player of the Year and 1st Team Honors, OSSCA Leadership Award, MVSSCA All-District 1st Team Honor
Coach Kevin Lynch – WOSL Coach of the Year for the 6th time, MVSSCA All-District Coach of the Year
High School Boys Soccer Team – WOSL Champions 9X, District Champions, Elida Shoot Out Classic Champions, 17-2-1
John Ratermann – WOSL Offensive Player of the Year, OSSCA All State Honor, MVSSCA All-District 1st Team Honor
Memphis Meyer – set a new school record for 21 assists in a season, WOSL Defensive Player of the Year & 1st Team, MVSSCA 2nd Team Honor
Conner Butcher – WOSL Goalkeeper of the Year & 1st Team, MVSSCA 1st Team Honor
