The Botkins Board of Education met on January 10th for the regular board meeting and took the following actions:

• Approved the minutes of the December 13, 2023 regular board meeting

• Approved the Treasurer’s report by fund, general fund activity, the Investment Report, and the 5-year review of General Fund Activity as presented

• Approved to set the cost of Drivers Education at $375 for Botkins students and $475 for Non-Botkins students for 2024-25 school year as presented

• Approved to join OSBA for the calendar year 2024 at a rate of $3694 as presented

• Approved to join OSBA's Legal Assistance Fund (LAF) for the calendar year 2024 at a rate of $250 as presented

• Adopted the 2024-25 school calendar as presented

• Approved to accept the following donations as presented:

  • $1000.00 from the Fischbach Family fund to be used for the Girls' Athletic Fund

  • $500.00 from Phyllis J. Serr Estate to be used for 2023 Scholarships

  • $2000.00 from Joe & Janell Welker to be used for the Nick Welker Scholarship Fund

  • $239.00 from Meyer's Tavern to be used for the Boys' Basketball Fund

  • $352.00 from Meyer's Tavern to be used for the Cross Country Fund

• Approved to hire the following personnel:

  • Emalie Carson - Varsity Girls' Soccer Coach

  • Dennis McPheron - Varsity Boys' Basketball Assistant Coach

• Approved to accept the resignation of Mike Hoy as Bus Driver as of 12-1-2023
