The Botkins Board of Education met on July 13th for the regular board meeting and took the following actions:

  • Approved the minutes of the June 8, 2022 regular board meeting

  • Approved the Treasurer’s report by fund, general fund activity, the Investment Report, and the 5-year review of General Fund Activity as presented

  • Approved to pay parents for private school transportation in lieu of our district transporting their children to and from Sidney Christian as presented. We will be reimbursed from the State for these costs.

  • Accepted a donation of $212 from Meyer's Tavern to be used for Cole Field Athletic fund as presented

  • Accepted the following resignations as presented:

  • Approved to hire the following personnel as presented:

  • Approved to enter the program services agreement with the Midwest Regional ESC for Fiscal Year 2023 as presented

  • Approved the following Midwest Regional Educational Service Center Service Agreements as presented:

  • Approved the Athletic handbook for the 2022-2023 school year as presented

  • Approved the Resolution for Inside Millage Move as presented

  • Approved to give authorization to the treasurer to contact the County Auditor's office to reduce the bond retirement fund millage by 1.48 mills.

  • Adopted the following Resolutions of Commendation as presented:

    • Aleah Johnson – Set a new school record at Disc with a distance of 148’8”.

    • Aleah Johnson – Aleah became Regional Champion in Disc with a throw of 134’10” which advanced her to state competition. Aleah was awarded 5th Individual State Champion in school history, and the 6th State Title Overall at Disc with a distance of 137’5”.

    • Boys Track 4x200 Relay – Brady Steinke, Keegan Thorpe, Jack Dietz, and Xavier Monnin set a new school record in the Boys 4x200 Relay with a time of 1:37.61.

    • Boys Track 4x800 Relay – Xavier Monnin, Parker Schnippel, Keaton Schnippel, and Carter Pleiman set a new school record in the Boys 4x800 Relay with a time of 8:18.20.

    • Isaac Cisco – Set a new school record for Career Base on Balls with 66 walks.

    • Isaac Cisco – Set a new school record for Season Base on Balls with 34 walks.

  • Approved to hire the following student athletic workers at minimum wage as presented:

    • Sophie Braun

    • Colton Pleiman

    • Peyton Wendel

  • Approved the hiring of substitute standards under H.B. 583 as presented

  • Approved the MOU with BFT as presented on hiring Jerry Lenhart at more years of experience then the current contract allows

  • Approved to hire Jerry Lenhart as Intervention Specialist
