The Botkins Board of Education met on July 8th for the regular board meeting and took the following actions:

• Approved the minutes of the June 10, 2026 regular board meeting as presented

• Approved the Treasurer’s report by fund, general fund activity, the Investment Report, the 5-year review of General Fund Activity, and reviewed the estimated property tax credits, and reviewed the comparison of the FY26 forecast to actual activity at as presented

• Accepted the following donations as presented:

  • $329.75 anonymous donation for the Baseball athletic fund

  • $5000 from the Botkins Athletic Boosters for the purchase of a golf simulator

• Approved to hire the following personnel per the approved salary schedule as presented:

  •   Tyler Wolters – Substitute Bus Driver

  • Cal Miller – Summer School Teacher

  • Kylie Mack – Summer School Tutor                                                                        

• Approved to enter the program services agreement with the Midwest Regional ESC for the Fiscal Year 2027 as presented

• Approved the athletic admission prices for the 2026-27 school year as presented and set season passes at $95 for adults and $55 for students

• Approved the following resolutions of commendation as presented:

Madison Loy – set a new school record with most strikeouts in a career with 605 strikeouts, set a new school record for most wins in a season with 13 wins, set a new school record for most wins in a career with 36 wins, awarded 1st Team SCAL All-League Honor, awarded Honorable Mention All-Southwest District Honor

Camryn McPheron – set a new school record for most walks in a season with 27 walks, awarded Honorable Mention SCAL All-League Honor

Peyton Platfoot – set a new school record for most triples in a career with 12 triples, tied the  school record for most home runs in a career with 6, awarded Honorable Mention SCAL All-League Honor

Kambree Walters – tied a school record for most triples in a season with 5 triples, awarded 2nd Team SCAL All-League Honor

Softball Team – set a new school record for most wins in a season with 14

Hudson Meyer – awarded 1st Team All-Southwest District Honor, 2nd Team SCAL All-League Honor

Elijah Schuller – awarded 2nd Team All-Southwest District Honor, 1st Team SCAL All-League Honor

Treg Meyer – awarded Honorable Mention All-Southwest District Honor

Will Monnin – awarded Honorable Mention All-Southwest District Honor, Honorable Mention SCAL All-League Honor

• Approved the Gr. 7-12 handbook for the 2026-27 school year as presented

• Approved the Gr. K-6 handbook for the 2026-27 school year as presented

• Approved the Classified handbook for the 2026-27 school year as presented

• Approved the Faculty handbook for the 2026-27 school year as presented

• Approved the Volunteer handbook for the 2026-27 school year as presented

• Approved Paula Owen for a continuing Teaching contract as presented

• Approved change orders with Schnippel Construction for the Auxiliary Gym as presented

• Entered Executive Session at 7:25 p.m.

• Left Executive Session at 7:40 p.m.
