The Botkins Board of Education met on May 9th for the regular board meeting and took the following actions:

• Approved the minutes of the April 10, 2024 regular board meeting

• Approved the Treasurer’s report by fund, general fund activity, the Investment Report, and the 5-year review of General Fund Activity as presented

• Amended the 5-Year Forecast as presented

• Approved Transfers and Advances as presented

• Approved Then and Now Purchase Order as presented

• Approved to hire Brooke Schmerge as 7-12 ELA Teacher as presented

• Approved to hire the list of personnel for the 2024-25 school year for supplemental contracts as presented

• Approved to hire the following personnel as summer tutors and coordinator per salary schedule as presented:

• Approved to Opt out of CTE for the 2024-25 school year and will apply for a CTE waiver as presented

• Accepted the following donations as presented:

  • $167.00 was received from Meyer's Tavern to be used for the Basketball program

  • $400.00 was received from the ABC's to be used for the Right to Read Week bowling field trip

  • $860.00 was received from an anonymous donor to be used for the Ag/IT Shop

  • $300.00 was received from Susan Schneider to be used for the Gary Schneider Memorial Scholarship fund

• Approved the Classified handbook for the 2024-25 school year as presented

• Approved the Faculty handbook for the 2024-25 school year as presented

• Approved the Athletic handbook for the 2024-25 school year as presented

• Approved the 7-12 handbook for the 2024-25 school year as presented

• Approved the following overnight trips as presented:

  • FFA – Big “E” in West Springfield, Massachusetts – September 12-15

  • FCCLA – Nationals in Seattle, Washington – June 28-July 3

• Accepted the following resignations as presented:

  • Beth White - Custodian, effective 5/31/2024

  • Tyler Carson - Business Teacher, effective 7/31/2024

• Approved to hire Lori Kremer as custodian, effective immediately.
