The Botkins Board of Education met on May 13th for the regular board meeting and took the following actions:

• Approved the minutes of the April 8, 2026 regular board meeting

• Approved the Treasurer’s report by fund, general fund activity, the Investment Report, and the 5-year review of General Fund Activity as presented

• Approved a $10,000 transfer from the general fund to the textbook set aside fund for future class supplies and textbook expenses as presented

• Amended the Certificate and Appropriations as presented

• Entered Executive Session at 7:26 P.M.

• Left Executive Session at 7:57 P.M.

• Approved to hire supplemental contracts as presented

  • $505 donation from Meyer’s Tavern for the Destination Imagination fund

  • $250 donation from Garmann Miller for the Destination Imagination fund

  • $562 donation from Meyer’s Tavern for the Destination Imagination fund

  • $1000 donation from the Eagle Bridge Charitable fund for the Destination Imagination fund

  • $100 anonymous donation for the Destination Imagination fund

  • $10,000 donation for the Establishment of the Bill Miller Scholarship start in May 2027

• Approved to hire the summer speech, OT and PT contracts with the Midwest Regional Educational Service Center Agreement as presented

• Approved the following overnight trips as presented:

• Approved to pay substitute teachers for the 2026-27 school year at $120 per day as presented.

• Approved to hire Janel Platfoot as a substitute teacher for the 2025-26 school year at a rate of $110 per day

• Adopted changes to the Board Policy as presented

• Approved membership in CORAS as presented
