The Botkins Board of Education met on November 16th for the regular board meeting and took the following actions:
Approved the minutes of the October 12, 2022 regular board meeting
Approved the Treasurer’s report by fund, general fund activity, the Investment Report, and the 5-year review of General Fund Activity as presented
Approved the 5-year Forecast as presented
Approved Membership with Sidney-Shelby County Chamber of Commerce as presented
Approved disbursement of money for HOBY sponsorship as presented
Approved to hire the following substitute teachers for the 2022-23 school year as presented:

Approved to hire the following extracurricular positions for the 2022-23 school year as presented:

Accepted the following donations as presented:
$186 was received from Meyer's Tavern to be used for the Cole Field Fund
$450 was received from the The Botkins Education Foundation to be used for the Jeff Robert's Scholarship Fund
$500 was received from the ABC's to be used for the Drama Club.
Approved the FFA overnight trip to the State Finals in Wooster, Ohio December 1-2, 2022 as presented
Approved the Tournament Manager Rate for the 2022-23 school year as presented
Adopted the following Resolutions of Commendation as presented:

Lydia Dietz – 1st Botkins Girls Golf Division II Sectional Champion in school history; First female to qualify for Division II Districts where she was deemed Champion, 1st Botkins Girls Golf Division II District Champion, advanced to OHSAA State Division II where she tied for 16th place, Academic All-Ohio
Ross Dietz –Tied low score record of a 33 for 9 holes; Awarded 1st Team SCAL, Placed 2nd overall in league play; Division III District Qualifier, District Runner-up, OHSAA State Qualifier where he tied for 18th Place at State, SWGCA Division III-2nd Team
Janel Platfoot – 2nd Team All-District
Camdyn Paul – Set a new school record for most career goals with 72 total goals, was awarded 1st Team WOSL, WOSL Player of the Year, MVSSCA All-Sectional 1st Team, MVSSCA All-District Team
Coach Padraig Murphy – awarded WOSL Coach of the Year
Carson Motter – Set a new school record for Saves in a Career with 374 Saves, set a school record (3rd All Time in State) for 47 Shutouts in a Career, awarded MVSSCA All-Sectional West 1st Team, WOSL All-League Honors 1st Team, WOSL Scholar Athlete
John Smock – Set a new school record for Assists in a Career with 47 Assists, awarded OSSCA All-State 2nd Team, MVSSCA All-District, MVSSCA All-Sectional West 1st Team, WOSL All-League Honors 1st Team, WOSL Scholar Athlete
Coach Kevin Lynch – Awarded his 200th Career Win for High School Boys Soccer
Brylie Greve – Raced at State in Junior High Race and placed 9th, and was 1st Place Shelby County Junior High runner
Alaina Mann – 2nd Place Individual at Regionals; 1st Team All-District, 1st Team All-Region, 1st Team SCAL, State Qualifier-finished 12th overall, All-Ohioan
Brittany Arnold – 4th Place Individual at Regionals; 1st Team All-District, 1st Team All-Region, 1st Team SCAL, State Qualifier-finished 20th overall, All-Ohioan
Grace Gutman – Honorable Mention All-District, 2nd Team SCAL
Keaton Schnippel – Only one of two Individuals to run in Four State XC Meets in school history, 2nd Team All-Region. Academic All-Ohio. 1st Team All-District, 1st Team SCAL
Parker Schnippel – Honorable Mention All-Region, 1st Team All-District, 1st Team SCAL
Carter Pleiman – Only one of Two Individuals to run in Four State XC Meets in school history, Honorable Mention All-Region, 2nd Team All-District. 2nd Team SCAL
Carson Brown – Honorable Mention All-Region, Academic All-Ohio, 1st Team All-District, 1st Team SCAL
Collin Doseck – Academic All-Ohio, 2nd Team All-District, 1st Team SCAL
Jacob Grunden – Honorable Mention All-District, Honorable Mention SCAL
Girls Cross Country – SCAL Runner-up, District Runner-up, placed 4th at Regionals which is the highest place finish since 1995.
Boys Cross Country – SCAL Champions (last time was 1991), District Champions for the 7th time in program history, as well as back-to-back years as District Champions (last time was 1981, 1982, 1983); qualified for Regionals where they finished 3rd advancing them on to State; first-time Boys Cross Country Team Qualified for the State Meet for four years in a row, Placed 4th place in State for the highest finish in school history.
