The Botkins Board of Education met on October 12th for the regular board meeting and took the following actions:

  • Approved the minutes of the August 10, 2022 regular board meeting

  • Approved the Treasurer’s report by fund, general fund activity, the Investment Report, and the 5-year review of General Fund Activity as presented

  • Approved the Then and Now purchase order as presented

  • Approved all Activity Accounts for the Botkins Local School District for the 2022-23 school year as presented.

  • Approved to hire the following substitute teachers for the 2022-23 school year as presented:

    • Nick Fischio

    • Rebekah New

  • Approved to hire the following personnel for the 2022-23 school year as presented:

    • Joe Shuga - Substitute Bus Driver

    • Jeff McPheron - Substitute Bus Driver

    • Jena Meinerding - Assistant Varsity Softball Coach

  • Accepted the following donations as presented:

    • $4600 was received from the Botkins Soccer Club to be used for the Varsity Girls Soccer program

    • $100 was received from the ABC's to be used for the Veterans' Day breakfast

    • $2694.14 was received from Scholastics to be used for the ABC's fund

    • $4448 was received from the Athletic Boosters to be used for the Athletics fund

    • $2000 was anonymously received to be used for the Drama fund

    • $1807 was received from Barbara Roberts to be used for the Jeff Roberts Memorial Scholarship Fund

  • Adopted the changes to the Board Policy and Administrative Guideline as presented

  • Accepted the resignation of Connie Smith as 4 hour janitor worker as of October 1, 2022

  • Accepted the resignation of Audra Schaub as Freshman Girls' Head Basketball Coach as of October 6, 2022

  • Approved the adjustment of the Maintenance Supervisor (Drew Kreitzer) contract as presented

  • Approved to hire the following volunteers as presented:

    • Ryan Loy - Volunteer Girls' Golf Coach

    • Travis Dietz - Volunteer Girls' Golf Coach

    • Jeff McPheron - Volunteer Girls' Golf Coach

    • Todd Dietz - Volunteer Girls' Golf Coach

  • Approved to hire the following personnel as presented:

    • Alex McCullough - Maintenance/Custodial

  • Approved to reschedule November's Regular Board Meeting from the original date of November 9th to now be held on November 16, 2022 at 7:00 PM
